About The Event
The theme for this year is 'Expand Horizons, change attitudes'. We are organizing a maiden seminar/careerfair where experts from different aspects of the ICT value chain will be present to speak to girls in Senior Secondary Schools in
Port-Harcourt, on opportunities that exist in the ICT sector. This includes software programming, digital marketing, technology lawyers and policy experts, techprenuers, bloggers and entrepreneurs leveraging on ICT. We will also have practical breakout sessions and career fairs to better explain to the participants, the opportunities that abound in the 21 st century.
There will be 5 girls from 12 select public and private secondary schools from the Science, business and arts field to participate at our event this year. This will be a tremendous opportunity for young girls in schools and communities in southern Nigeria, who have less awareness about the benefit of the internet and ICT when compared to Lagos and Abuja. Notable speakers at the
event will include Mrs Bitebo Gogo, Executive Director of Keeping It Real Foundation, Uki Asemota, Special Adviser to the Deputy Governor on digital media.
